THE MIGHTY OAK …

Hellooooooo there
The summer holidays are now a distant memory, as faded as our suntans. This month we completed:
•
A transitions tracker in English and French, to be updated half-yearly, that follows
political transitions, post-conflict reconstruction and democratic consolidation across
the continent;
• A policy brief on PGMs, green hydrogen production and economic development in
South Africa;
• A report on findings from the first explicitly transitional justice process for climate
harms;
• A paper making the case for safe and dignified migration in Africa following the
AU’s adoption of the Protocol on the Free Movement of Persons, Right of
Residence and Right of Establishment;
• A brief in English and French on West Africa’s evolving drug crisis; and
•
A book celebrating Burundi bank BANCOBU’s 65th anniversary.
These publications are the culmination of (or a significant milestone in) long, arduous projects, that have taken researchers, experts and participants months, if not years, to complete. Not one of them sprang fully formed – they were all the result of ideas, plans and hard work, with many setbacks along the way. Like the little acorn, they stood their ground.
