FELICITY GALLAGHER
Felicity worked in finance and publishing in the UK before moving to South Africa, where she managed an educational trust in North West province. In 2012 she moved to the Cape and joined COMPRESS.dsl and in 2019, with Gloria Makambi, purchased the business, turning it into a B-BBEE Level 2 black-owned enterprise.
Felicity is a qualified editor with extensive experience in conceptualising and realising complex organisational reports. Felicity holds an MA in Applied Ethics for Professionals from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa, as well as a BA (Hons) in French and Spanish from the University of Durham in the UK, and a Diploma in copy-editing and proofreading from Book House, London.
GLORIA MAKAMBI
Gloria grew up in the Eastern Cape and moved to Gauteng for work in 1990. She has worked in education and management, before transferring to the Cape in 2012. She is a shareholder of COMPRESS.dsl, and is our office manager. Gloria holds a Diploma in Office Administration from Boston City Campus and Business College.
LESLEY PRICE
Lesley has been a graphic designer for over 20 years, and has worked for COMPRESS.dsl for ten years. She has extensive experience in art direction, photographic styling, production, and has further complemented her skills with courses in proofreading and project management. She holds a BA degree in Graphic Design from the University of Stellenbosch.
HELLEN HUYSAMER
Hellen has worked in desktop publishing for over 20 years. She undertook production and repro for seven of those years, before moving into book publishing, where she has worked as an office manager and layout artist.
ANNEKE BRAND
Anneke has a strong scientific background and has worked in sales and marketing. She is also a freelance editor with experience in copy-editing, proofreading and teaching scientific writing. She holds a PhD in Microbiology from the University of Stellenbosch and has further complemented her skills by completing courses in language editing, Afrikaans and English.
